The saddest thing about betrayal is that it never comes from your enemies, it comes from those you trust the most

Summary by Money12123

I don't think this is going anywhere.

HeavenSmile (talkcontribs)

Even if I wasn't really betrayed, I truly felt betrayed. I had good reasons to defend the reception wikis, since many of their articles actually provide fair criticism and many opinionated pages have been deleted by the admins and those problematic admins have left wikipedia months ago.

They decided to close Qualitipedia because of problems that happened like one year ago and yet the admins weren't responsible enough to take care of the wikis, I lost those who were the closest thing I have to friends, this feels like Revenge of the Sith, except those who turned into the dark side were the former admins, they started to ignore the good qualities of the wikis and treated me like trash, I tought I was able to solve a problem with words, but no, they failed to me.

In recent years web reviews have became more reliable than professional critics, sometimes critics can bash media for stupid reasons like for example Godzilla: King of the Monsters was criticized by critics for having too much scenes with monsters yet audiences loved the film. Sometimes media (not just films) can have different reception between critics and audiences, and audiences are much more trustworthy compared to critics at times (through web reviewers can be also biased at times).

I planned to restore pages about people in the reception wikis (both the positive and the negative) since plenty of them were actually pretty good and gave fair criticism to them, also because some celebrities do a lot of unethical things that deserve to be criticized. I also wanted to restore some of the pages that were deleted in RWW since they were actually good.

I regret making a RfC to resotre the Website Reception Wikis since nearly everyone has failed to me, I should have discussed this with FatBurn0000. If you are reading this FatBurn, please gave me the database dumps of the website reception wikis.

I know it's kind of ridiculous to say this now as I could have said it when you first posted this but if betrayal was from your enemies, it most likely wouldn't be betrayal.

HeavenSmile (talkcontribs)

I used to trust in SuperStreetKombat, until he made that RfC that was responsible for closing Qualitipedia, I lost any hope with everyone here even if I tried to solve this with words like mature adults could do.

Money12123 (talkcontribs)
  1. I don't have the database dumps.
  2. The wikis are soon going to be revived on qualitipedia.cf. About celebrities though, I think it's better if they have their own wiki.
GyrineZ (talkcontribs)

You people are such dissapointments. Qualishitia is universally hated.

Money12123 (talkcontribs)
  1. "Universally"? Really? Majority of people don't even know it exists.
  2. Stop bashing the opinions of anyone who wants Qualitipedia to be revived. I understand why people hate it but stop feeling the need to complain about any praise towards Qualitipedia.
Blad (talkcontribs)

I think they meant that almost everyone who knows QP exists hates it.

Money12123 (talkcontribs)

Fine, but I'm not sure how true that is.

HeavenSmile (talkcontribs)

Miraheze and Qualitipedia are still obscure compared to FANDOM, as Qualitipedia is being revived outside Miraheze and because I know many people would disagree I will not try to restore the wikis on Miraheze even if I think that the Literature wikis shouldn't have been closed since they are very unknown compared to the rest and there was very little to no drama in them.

Portrock1566 (talkcontribs)

You're the one who threatened suicide if the Democratic People's Republic of Qualitipedia/DPRQ (what I'd call the network) and yet here you're still standing, so you've broke your own words to no one's surprise, buddy.

Good thing he hid that shit, because that was dumb.

SquirtSquirtle (talkcontribs)

I know what I posted was dumb. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have hid that piece of fuck.

HeavenSmile (talkcontribs)

@Portrock1566 I actually regret threatening to commit suicide if Qualitipedia closed, but anyways I still disagreed with the idea since Qualitipedia was my safespace to talk about some stuff that is very controversial, even if I detest SJWs I also think that some right-wingers are bad, like Alex Jones for example.

Money12123 (talkcontribs)

You don't need to ping him - if he wants to receive your reply, he'll be watching the topic.

You duplicated your comment.

HeavenSmile (talkcontribs)

It was an error.

Money12123 (talkcontribs)

I suspected as such; I was notifying you with an implied suggestion that you remove it (I know that you can't delete it, but you could edit it to say "Removed," which is something that I learnt from a HMW contributor back in HMW's Fandom era that was related to the fact that Fandom comments could not be deleted).

Money12123 (talkcontribs)
  1. Comparing a wiki family to a name often used by communist countries (I'm not sure if that's the case, but I know some communist countries use names like that, and I can't think of anything else insulting about that name) is ridiculous, not because I think it's incomparable as in "Communist countries are much worse," but because I genuinely don't know how they are similar in any way.
  2. What is the point of that comment? Do you want them to commit suicide? I'm not saying just because you said that you do, but if anything, you should be happy that they haven't committed suicide.
Portrock1566 (talkcontribs)

1. Raidarr already spoke for me on that one so.

2. Same as above. Also what part of my message implies I wanted them to commit suicide.

Money12123 (talkcontribs)

I wasn't saying you wanted them to commit suicide, just that you seemed kind of ungrateful. But forget it now.

Raidarr (talkcontribs)
  1. going off on a numbered ramble about offhand semantic comments, pretty much every time is silly
  2. Port obviously is playing the DPRQ line for comedy
  3. again, this is kinda silly, you do this a lot and you don't seem to have learned from a fairly high volume of people who don't appreciate it
  4. You're missing context: HS was the one threatening suicide if the wikis close. To be quite frank with you nobody really cared in the first place when he played that card. Now he's stinking up the place again with new hyperbole. If he just vanished from the internet it would probably be for his own good given he has a distinct bluba streak with higher extremes.
  5. It's pretty much only you who does it like this. Please. Pick your battles. I'm only bothering because I maintain a sliver of hope that you'll move on and improve.
Tamagotchifan35 (talkcontribs)

All I can just say here is that sites like IMDb, Metacritic, (and to some extent) TheTopTens provide all the things that QP has. Also for the critics' thing, it seems like that major corporations tend to look at a movie/show's positive reviews and seem to be completely oblivious to its negative reception.

Money12123 (talkcontribs)

Okay, I'm fine with people saying in a more detailed way why Qualitipedia is pointless, but your arguments are not true. Qualitipedia's point was to combine all of the reception about a piece of media into one page. That remains a fact regardless of whether or not it means Qualitipedia is necessary.

Raidarr (talkcontribs)

That point has always been neutered with a little 'citation needed' flag considering people were using QP to achieve wildly different aims, few of them being any more ambitious than presenting opinions they personally held or saw on youtube. It was always an uphill and usually failing battle to try and get a page to actually represent universal reception, especially the part of reception that includes explanation or even serious recognition of divergent opinions that are omnipresent in the reception of creative work. The lack of effort in considering divergent opinions and writing in a way that is remotely encyclopedic (or falling miles below the mark when attempted) is one of the strongest arguments against Qualitipedia even having a coherent point, let alone justifying if it is a necessary one or not.

Money12123 (talkcontribs)

Still, it was clear there was more than "pointless rip-off of review aggregators" to Qualitipedia's reason to exist.

HeavenSmile (talkcontribs)

I tought the Reception section didn't need to be obligatory since it can be found in Wikipedia and other wikis, and could encourage vandalism. In my opinion the Trivia sections are quite unnecessary since they have facts that can be found in multiple websites.

Raidarr (talkcontribs)

You think the reception and trivia sections are redundant/could incur vandalism but don't say the same about bullet points of various claims made by whoever comes across the article and spits the first things they can think for them with no effort required. Hmm.

Szczypak2005 (talkcontribs)

Although I have encountered many disadvantages of these wikis, such as page bias or aggressive behavior of admins, I agree with HeavenSmile, the closure itself was a great insult aimed at users (including me) who still had interest. However, you can always create your own version of the reception wikis like on Fandom or somewhere on Miraheze, but unfortunately, this is already a dead corpse that will be gone forever in 6 months.

We should also not despair over the loss and try to create our own version somewhere on the Internet, because despair over closing one place is rather pointless and will not change anything, so everyone who still cares about this place should set up their own version of qualitipedia. However, I would also like to add that the main reason, as mentioned by Nonstopmaximum, for the collapse of these wikis was the bad management of these wikis, so you have to be careful above all and not make mistakes that have been made over the years.

Money12123 (talkcontribs)

The wikis are being revived on qualitipedia.cf, as I have said before. Also, it's not really an "insult," but definitely a disappointment.

HeavenSmile (talkcontribs)

Whatever it was, I still think they did the wrong thing and were unresponsible in the past.

If the admins were much more responsible back then this could never happen.

SuperStreetKombat (talkcontribs)
Raidarr (talkcontribs)

If a fundamentally irresponsible community was more responsibly managed by the people sourced from that community, then we wouldn't have this problem.

Well, by that line of thought, the responsible outcome has happened.

Money12123 (talkcontribs)

If the Qualitipedia wikis ever get revived, I will try to warn and block more toxic users.

Raidarr (talkcontribs)

You have quite a lot of opportunity to demonstrate and grow your capabilities on the wiki you currently (de-facto) operate, close to the subject.

SquirtSquirtle (talkcontribs)
LovingHaydeL (talkcontribs)

Ok. After leaving to do other Miraheze wikis, I came back every once in a while to see if this wiki closed. But wow, you managed to create a argument that felt like a personal attack that I had to come back to respond to this. This is more of a personal attack on the admins and rudely demanding Website Wiki dumps that it is so hard to take seriously. Please go to Raidarr for Website Wiki dumps, and head to meta.qualtipedia.cf to restore the pages.

Raidarr (talkcontribs)

Please do not go to me, I have not retained nor am I interested in recreating/regathering let alone redistributing website wiki dumps.

Money12123 (talkcontribs)

Then why did the logs on RWW and FWW show you downloading dumps?

Blad (talkcontribs)

Quote unquote "retained". He generated them but that doesn't necessarily mean he downloaded them. Either way, Miraheze publishes dumps of public wikis on the Internet Archive.

HeavenSmile (talkcontribs)

I don't like to talk about topics like politics in social media due to how controversial they are, I used Qualitipedia as some kind of escapism.

Don't take this wrong, there are limits when it comes to controversial topics.
