Just why, why were all these wikis closed, It just doesn't make sense

Did you not see the RFC?
No, the what now?
TL;DR. I don't understand what's going on. Whats project closure?
There was a Requests for Comment (RFC) that proposed closing Qualitipedia, and the RFC was successful.
But why though, I thought a lot of people liked these website
A lot of people do, but more people wanted it closed.
Keep in mind though that I'm Autistic. I haven't talk to others that much unless whenever I go out to work.
Well, That's too bad. It was fun talking to users on those wikis as well as creating pages on them. Keep in mind, I only created a few back then such as Power Rangers Time Force, Cyberchase, The Wonderful 101, The Transformers: The Movie (1986) and Ori and the Will of the Wisps.
See Project closure.
That doesn't explain it
How?
What are you gonna do? I don't understand.
We literally announced the proposal all across the Wikis for the entire run. How out-of-touch can you be?
Exactly.
Just a quick question.
It will probably stay, given that it is no longer the Qualitipedia server and is now Entryway.
ok.
its an invalid link
I don't think there's a way of accessing the new server link if newcomers of the server were to join.
Actually the invites still exist as far as I know. Why? You want in?
I guess

Ok, here's a new one then and hopefully the last attempt.
it works, thanks
I can give the link
Sigh, I already miss the Greatest Movies Wiki. I mainly avoided getting into the political areas and controversies surrounding other pages or toxic users. I mostly just simply used the wiki as a place to talk about various classic and essential films and landmarks in terms of cinema. I was even open to other people's preferences and didn't get into edit wars. Why can't Miraheze simply have nice things?
Because the majority of editors for certain wikis on Miraheze can't do things right.
what is everyone planning to do now that Qualitipedia is closed?
For me, it's to get good grades in high school and play some games, maybe even travel here or there.
The answer is pretty simple. We move on with our lives away from the wikis. Plus, I'm about to celebrate my birthday in two weeks.
Besides that, I'm going to work hard in college so that I can get good grades. I will also try and find some more new friends outside this site, continue on with collecting figures, travel, enjoy watching more tv shows/movies, and play games.
Happy early birthday as well. By the way, I'm actually through with my shitty joke thanks to how TF&HW ruined it and finally forgive you for snapping at me (the playful part of me hasn't faded though as that's part of my soft side, so I'd still tease about unrelated matters regardless).
What was your "shitty joke"?
Basically where I make fun of her for the time she went batshit over me removing her mentions from the Love Love! and Bandori pages on Healthy Fandoms & Hatedoms Wiki (how do I even remember this?). The first time I "promised" to stop turned out to be empty as I was only pressured into it and circumvented the situation back to how it was before. Never have I thought I made it this far.
damnnn
Wait, of whom did you make fun?
He made fun of me (back in my old account around 2019, that is). He just told you that. But as I said, it happened a long time ago and I pretty much have forgotten about it.
Wait, so Portrock knows who you are?
Yeah. It's a long story I prefer her to explain but she seems to have left for good.
I kinda forgot about that incident tbh.
Oh, uh... Thanks for that. Even though it's kinda overdue, given that it had happened a long time ago.
Happy Early Birthday
Thanks in advance! ^^

And what will replace this wiki?
We don't know.
As for the main point of these wikis, Metacritic and other sites like iMDB (not strictly entertainment) can do this, and for anything not related to entertainment industry, the list of perennial sources can be used to determine the tendency of these sites listed to contain hoaxes and other types of false information.
As for the fake blog collabs, I suggest the fanon wikis like the general one and more specific ones like Halo Fanon and Titanfall Fanon, and if you want to do it in Qualitipedia style, I suggest Imagination Land Wiki.
Truth be told, I don't want to see them revived.
I don't really trust "trusted" reception sites either. I am glad! These Wikis had opinions contrary to ours. FunGuy2001 and SMG4Nerd4591 even criticized the Wikis. Plus, the Characters Wikis as well as the Music Wikis and also the Toys Wikis too must be closed as well. Those Wikis must lose their independence to Qualitipedia.
I got my huge game collection, buying my parents a Breville Smart Oven Pro Toaster Oven for Christmas (I myself would love the dehydrator option), watching old movies, read manga, keep an eye out for superior retro emulation handheld consoles better than Retroid Pocket 2, drink more coffee, read my cooking books, especially recipes for cast iron, read manga. Basically I'm ready to move on with my life.
me too. I have reading a lot more manga and webtoons, and dance regularly.
Me three. I have to manage both of the Character Wikis.
I'm just going to focus on my life, move on, and do some stuff that can prepare me for my future career, in which I want to a game developer and maybe a animator as well, and since I'm currently a high school junior, I still have many things to do. However, I'm also doing my usual hobbies as well, such as playing video games, listening to music (I'm into alternative rock and any songs made in the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and early-mid 2000s), watching some films, watching some TV shows, and surfing the Internet as usual in general.
My contacts. Anyways I'll continue doing what I enjoy/do best and achieve the basic milestones (college, work, relationships, etc).
Final comment before I log out permanently and leave Miraheze forever.
Once I leave, I won't comeback to message and reply here on the threads. I could have made a retirement blog out of this last year back when I locked my old account however I find them too cliche and may cause an unnecessary commotion. Besides, not many people here recognize me due to how little I did that impacted Qualitipedia as a whole; except for a few ones I've met here since I was one of the older users who was more active around mid 2019-early 2021. Not that it matters anyways since I don't really want to associate myself in Qualitipedia anymore. I also could have made a retirement blog on this account I'm currently using, however, I don't think its necessary because with the wikis gone, pretty much a lot of people here will leave anyways and move on into doing other things. Anyhow, I won't be missing these wikis nor do I have any plans of returning to any revival sites due to lack of interest in wiki editing overall. And not to mention, I have a lot of things that I want to do in my life. In summary, I will thank some of those users that I've met here (including a few of the ones that have since long-retired) for at least helping me make my confidence grow around others. Without them, I wouldn't be the same person as I was before I even joined in here.
Now that that's said, sorry to say this but this is the last time I go under the alias "Skias" as I currently have a different name outside the wikis. And for the sake of privacy, I won't be giving out my contact details either since I want to stay safe online and start fresh with newer friends that don't associate themselves with Qualitipedia nor Miraheze. Since I don't have any use for this account much longer, I'll have my account locked on Meta now.
So this is Zapp (a.k.a. Skias) signing off. Peace out!
Hold on, you're Arctic01?
I'm heading off to The Legend of Dark Witch Wiki.
So, these wikis have been closed anyway due to insurmountable problems mentioned on the RfC, so I moved on to continue my project about hypothetical games like Titanfall 3. Also, my house is moving, so I have to deal with these changes too, not just QP closure but also relocation of my house.
Reception wikis are fat big Ls in Miraheze history and I proven the structure of these wikis (Why It Sucks/Redeeming Qualities) problematic twice in two blog posts, especially the fact the current QP uses two wikis (one for negative and another for positive) for each area in entertainment industry. It is one more time to prove again that reception wikis are fat big L is putting
into Loathsome Characters Wiki.
I will probably be on the characters wiki and the amazing yters wiki, as well as the discord.
I might be also active in BFDI wiki on FANDOM and maybe create the Kpop wiki
I’ll continue to write Peppa Pig fanfics on Google Docs. Also, I’ll still be active on Astonishing Scratchers Wiki, The New Reception Wiki, ( Possibly ) Amazing YouTubers Wiki and maybe some more, so you can keep in contact with me there.
( Oh, and also the Character Wikis. I’ll start making contributions there. )
I'll be active on Trollpasta Wiki on Miraheze.
I'm just asking because I'm not sure if you've set an exact date and whatnot.
The 27th.
The 27th of September.
The 27th of this month.
Alright then, just wondering. In that case, I'm gonna prepare to leave.
Goodbye.
I wish there was a way for wikis to be locked so that the wikis never get deleted. Regardless of the community, the wikis are still useful as an encyclopedia for determining the quality of media.
Yeah, I agree. If only there was a way to preserve them...
there's going to be a dump of the whole thing
As in someone's archiving it?
not just "someone" but bucket specifically
ed: not just bucket
A dump of each wiki will be saved automatically by Miraheze if the wikis drop off the service and were not made private, regardless of Bukkit's involvement.
I have asked Agent Isai on Discord and he said either on the 27th or 30th.
Maybe you could open the wikis for 1 day or any day to fix pages that lack bad and redeeming quality?
You're Tijuan19 from DeviantArt, aren't you?
No, why?
Then why are you making similar requests to that user?
I was read his comment.
No.
Can you shut down all wikis (except for this wiki)? Maybe you can ask the creator?
No more action is required than already has been taken.
If you can't reopen wikis, then just shut down already!
I can't wait so long, please choose one reopen or shut down!
Shut down.
I know the wikis are closed and all, but I just wanted to say goodbye to everyone at Qualitipedia. It most certainly was a blast helping you all create and edit pages for the wikis, but I can understand why you closed them. Toxic communities are never a good thing, and it does make sense that you saw Qualitipedia as being too flawed to fix or save. I won't be leaving Miraheze altogether... not yet anyway. I'll still be on the character wikis and AVID for the time being, and I wish everyone a better future without Qualitipedia around.
Best wishes, DaVinci101
I knew this wiki network since April of 2020. Sad but also glad to see it go. Goodbye QP. Not leaving Miraheze itself though.
Dang it, ScumBob Wiki is the only thing I have now. I'll miss those pages. What if we can make another qualitipedia in Fandom?
- Fandom does not allow negative reception wikis.
- There is already the New Reception Wiki.
Afraid it got closed.
Still, I'm planning on doing something about it.
It's just that the wiki has closed ...
Since Qualitipedia is closing down, what will happen to the character wikis? I'm just curious.
As far as I’m aware due to them not being apart of qualitipedia, they are still open.
FatBurn0000 says he has plans for a revival! I just hope that all Pro-Qualitipedia users will contribute to the revived wikis.
I thought this was supposed to be good news.
So that's your definition of "good news", eh?
He's Professor Farnsworth.
Who's Professor Farnsworth?
Watch Futurama and all things shall be made clear.
That was partially a Futurama reference.
Yes, because Qualitipedia not closing after all is good news.
Objectively good news?
Not good news.
Not good news, I don't want this place revived, nobody wants it to be revived.
Wrong! 46 people voted oppose on the RfC to close Qualitipedia. All 46 of those people want Qualitipedia to stay open. There may even be other users who didn't vote on the proposal who want QP to stay open.
There are more people who want these wikis gone than there are who want these wikis to stay.
You don't know that. Only 127 users voted on the proposal. Qualitipedia has thousands of users.
"Thousands" is a rather exaggerated overstatement. At the very most, there'd be around 300-350 frequent visitors/editors.
Still, that is a lot of editors who didn't vote on the proposal.
And that doesn't include inactive users, who will be in for a rude awakening when they find out the wikis close. There will be massive backlash, I am predicting it now. The steward's noticeboard and community noticeboard will be flooded with users begging the wikis to be reopened.
Most inactive users retired due to the issues of Qualitipedia.
Well there are still a few hundred users who didn't retire.
Update: It isn't really a revival, FatBurn just said he wants to move all pages to The New Reception Wiki.
We most likely won't be moving much pages aside from ones from non-Qualitipedia reception wikis. Most of them will be recreated from scratch.
If this is true, I request that you leave my pages out. You can find a list of them here.
They aren't even "your" pages. They are Qualitipedia's pages, you just made them.
I will have to respectfully decline. ALL pages will be imported to the new wiki.
The reason why I would like to start from scratch is (a if we're going to import all pages, we might as well keep Qualitipedia open, which is what is being avoided and (b the pages are one of the many reasons why Qualitipedia is hated, so starting them from scratch can prevent bias.
Reception wikis are NEVER a good idea. For one, reception is subjective, nor does it dictate the QUALITY of media.
We are not trying to say that the things said on pages are objective facts. We are documenting and explaining all parts of reception.
Still same.
No it is not the same. We are documenting collective opinions, that is all.
Then can I ask what you intend people to think after reading that documentation? Do you expect them to agree with it? Challenge it?
Well to gain knowledge of what most other people think, especially if it a piece of media they haven't seen/played/read yet.
Bluba, this is why I will continue to go after you as long as this wiki is open and your sorry ass is here to populate it.
Seriously, you're worse than people like GyrineZ & Blazikeye. At least they have some sense of mind, it's just they express it in a bad way. You have no sense of mind and express it all in unadulterated stupidity.
This is why no one will ever like you and why you have no friends irl.
Stop being uncivil. Your last comment is clearly too far.
You don't have the right to decline on his behalf if he is the principle author.
I do so! Author or not, he gave those pages to Qualitipedia, pages are not "owned" by anyone. I refuse to not save or import any pages.
It's a simple, basic request. Rewrite the ones he did if you care enough. If he is the only one who wrote the page, then grant basic courtesy to them and let it get deleted, then make a new page about whatever media it was.
But wouldn't it just be easier to import the pages. Whether or not he wants them gone, it is a piece of history and we cannot just erase it.
It would be even easier to delete them.
For something as minor as this, yes you can. Not every single thing has to be archived. If the sole author doesn't want something as minor as a handful of pages, just delete it and start a new one.
YES EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE ARCHIVED!!!
NO IT DOESNT!
YES! IT! DOES!!!!!
Stop being childish. For your sake I hope you're not 17. If so you're well behind the maturity curve.
Also, archiving will not help. Even with archives, a website, when closed, is still technically gone. Archives do not keep websites alive, they just are a useful way to prove things. You cannot edit things through the Wayback Machine.
Unfortunately that is true. Which is why we should reboot these wikis and maybe try to start a new Qualitipedia community with different users.
You have got to be fucking kidding me.
Also FatBurn, why did you even revive The New Reception Wiki anyways?
I revived it because I wanted to revive and continue working on the pages on the old wiki. I'm aware TigerBlazer already did that with the Chill Place but they privatised the wiki, though luckily it's still possible that they can get moved due to the questionable way the wiki was privatised.
The fact that you still use phrases like “AntiQuals” and “ProQuals” explains a lot
Shut the fuck up Bluba.
Please.
Even though I don't approve of some of the comments coming from people who support the closure of QP, you're still an annoying ass piece of shit thorn in the back and deserve all the shit you're getting right now.
I think you need to be blocked for that kind of behavior, which is violating Miraheze's Code of Conduct: https://meta.miraheze.org/wiki/Code_of_Conduct
I'm not sure about blocks, but they certainly deserve a warning.
The CoC policy should be warning enough, if not, then War Incarnate will probably get a 1 or 2-week block for intimidating behavior/harassment.
I'll admit I went a bit too far. I won't try and come up with an excuse to defend my conduct here, other than I really did not approve of Bluba's conduct and something in me kinda snapped.
While I think some people on the "support" side have made comments just as bad if not worse than what I've said so far I won't try to use that to justify my actions.
Even though I still dislike Bluba, I will cease with my current style of hostile comments towards Bluba. I might still criticize him occasionally but I'll try to make sure my comments don't come off as too hostile.
- War Incarnate [contact me on my talk page or on Discord, where my tag is War Incarnate#0721]
Also, avoid saying that you "dislike" users. It's not a COC violation, but it's best that you don't share opinions on users.
Please be civil.
I agree with FatBurn here. Although I strongly oppose the idea of a reboot, don't insult other users.
I'm already preparing templates and categories for pages about games, transferring all pages from CGW and AGW is only a matter of time.
I would also like to add that my first page created by me has already moved there.
Please don't include my pages, thank you.
I will. because ALL pages need to be archived.
@ZeusDeeGoose Why do you not agree to the transfer of pages? Don't you think that archiving your pages on another wiki is a commemoration of your prideful deeds?
I don't support the idea of a reboot.
He clearly isn't proud of them if doesn't want them on. I can't think of one reason why such a basic request was denied. Is it so hard to leave them out?
Yes it is!!! All pages must be archived. Everything on the wiki must be archived.
And they are not "his" pages, they are Qualitipedia's pages.
Given who is trying to take charge, I think it is. I doubt they'll bother to do it correctly and they really will try to shove multiple wiki dumps together. I'd love to see the technical mishaps that come of it.
Tbh the best thing bureaucrats can do is simply not offer dumps, and allow these things to fade away peacefully. Such was my conclusion about releasing the website wiki dumps. People will dump them somewhere else and the bullshit will continue. I only regret not then hitting the delete checkmark before I resigned from Steward.
No! We must let these wikis live on, even if it is just on the Internet Archive/Wayback Machine
There is no point in anyone arguing with you anymore. Somebody could write the most detailed explanation covering all bases and you would just say the same thing. QP good.
Agreed, that's why he should have stayed blocked. I'm starting to think he's just a troll trying to piss us off.
I'd argue that making this new wiki is also undermining the efforts of the closure RfC.
I agree with you, TigerBlaze.
