nooo they closed it

I'm rebooting these wikis onto FANDOM

12
GL Rebooted (talkcontribs)

I'm just spreading word that I'm rebooting the Qualitipedia Project myself. Is that okay with any of you?

Raidarr (talkcontribs)

I mean, the more the word spreads the sooner it's going to be shut right back down like it was in the first place.

GL Rebooted (talkcontribs)

I really hope it doesn't get shut down.

SuperStreetKombat (talkcontribs)

The Reception Wikis were shut down from FANDOM because the site had created a policy against negative wikis at the time, and that rule is probably still going to this day, so I don't mean to get you down, but there's a high likelihood of the wikis getting removed from there again.

Tamagotchifan35 (talkcontribs)

Rebooting the wikis may be a bad idea considering that the wikis themselves were closed themselves around 4 years ago so opening them might be a pretty risky move to begin with (at least for the negative wikis). As for the positive wikis, those may just survive.

Portrock1566 (talkcontribs)

The CF reboot has proved the predictions of the Reception Wikis becoming empty shells if they survived true. Part of their popularity was their leeching off their host which it no longer has and can't do to FANDOM. Their "loyalists" have no competence to inherit the network as they're against the founder's wishes (given how they were the ones who accused him of you know what, it's not surprising).

Yonydesk (talkcontribs)

no. don't get the story twisted. the main spreaders of the accusations were sporeshroom and duchessthesponge, not some random "loyalists" trying to revive the wikis.

GL Rebooted (talkcontribs)

I rebooted the Awesome Games Wiki as a start.

Money12123 (talkcontribs)

Stop it. The wikis are already being revived on qualitipedia.cf.

Raidarr (talkcontribs)

You don't need to fight every last battle: GL will inevitably lose by proxy and discover the problem himself. If it works hey, more reliable than qpcf and you should be glad to see something with a reasonable uptime. You probably shouldn't have all your eggs in a mystery box anyway.

Money12123 (talkcontribs)

Still, I think qualitipedia.cf should be given a chance.

Raidarr (talkcontribs)

It'll get a chance when it figures out how databases work and fixes itself. Until then people will do what they wish to see results, regardless of the long-term consequences.

Summary by Money12123

No wiki, including TSEW, is reopening. Band1301 is no longer blocked on TSEW, so them being blocked is a false claim.

Band1301 (talkcontribs)

This wiki can't go away forever!Band1301 (talk) 17:37, 5 October 2022 (UTC)

ShawnTehLogoBoi (talkcontribs)

Unfortunately, it has to go away forever. Please deal with it.

Band1301 (talkcontribs)

No! Wait! Some chance I make it up to you for that and something more to happen with them, huh?

Band1301 (talkcontribs)
ShawnTehLogoBoi (talkcontribs)

But Band13010, TS&EW has already closed its doors. At this point, it's too late to give The Patrick Star Show its own page on this wiki. I'm sorry.

Band1301 (talkcontribs)

Try rebranding it.

Raidarr (talkcontribs)

Lazy answers won't fix it now.

ShawnTehLogoBoi (talkcontribs)

Raidarr's right. You do realize that lazy answers won't fix it now.

ShawnTehLogoBoi (talkcontribs)

Rebranding what?

Band1301 (talkcontribs)

The site of Terrible TV.

ShawnTehLogoBoi (talkcontribs)

I can't rebrand Terrible Shows & Episodes Wiki because for one, I'm not an admin there, and secondly, it has already been closed.

Band1301 (talkcontribs)

You gotta let me edit something there more and viewers want to know what was also the worst of TV!

Band1301 (talkcontribs)

You gotta let me edit something there more and viewers want to know what was also the worst of TV!

Equal One (talkcontribs)

At this point if people are just gonna repeat "reopen wiki plz im sad cuz me work not complete!1!" on the talk pages, then I don't feel like theres a point in keeping the talk pages open nor to keep answering these same questions. Requests like this further cemented the justification of the wikis closure.

Raidarr (talkcontribs)

If it's going to be more of this silliness then I have to agree.

Money12123 (talkcontribs)

Maybe we could restrict creations of new topics to autoconfirmed users?

Band1301 (talkcontribs)

My account there is in trouble! It doesn't wanna go away and I gotta make it up to this!

Money12123 (talkcontribs)

Account where?

Band1301 (talkcontribs)

On that wiki of Terrible TV, all I did was beg on what more things need to come and I wish to learn on deleting a message here.

Money12123 (talkcontribs)

You're blocked on a wiki that's closed, it's not a problem.

Il (talkcontribs)

They were blocked from April 29 to September 11, so they weren't blocked when it closed on September 27.

Band1301 (talkcontribs)

Tell this user to unblock me and everything!

Money12123 (talkcontribs)

As Il said, you are unblocked.

Band1301 (talkcontribs)

Still blocked from the wiki of Bad TV, help alert.

Raidarr (talkcontribs)

This is a non issue. I'm going to have to tell you to shush.

Money12123 (talkcontribs)

No you're not. Check your blog log.

Il (talkcontribs)

I think they mean that they can't do anything, as it's closed.

Band1301 (talkcontribs)

You gotta help unblock me there and reopen!

ShawnTehLogoBoi (talkcontribs)

Please calm down. Besides, you gotta face the fact that you will never be unblocked on TS&EW, and that TS&EW will never be reopened.

Money12123 (talkcontribs)

They're not even blocked.

Yonydesk (talkcontribs)

exclamation marks don't make your message more meaningful.

Band1301 (talkcontribs)

I gotta have my account back there and this can't be forever. Please anything but the permanent closure.

Money12123 (talkcontribs)

The wikis are staying closed. You're not blocked there at all, you just can't access things because they're closed. Accept it.

When Will The Wikias Open Again?!

39
Summary by Money12123

This discussion isn't going anywhere either TBH. Just accept that the wikis are closed. If you want to contribute more, then wait until the successor is here.

Grabbergirl134 (talkcontribs)

You can’t post comments and create new pages on Terrible TV Shows Wikia and irritating. When will closure be over?

Agent Isai (talkcontribs)

In 6 months, when they get deleted permanently.

Tamagotchifan35 (talkcontribs)

Short answer: They won't reopen.

Grabbergirl134 (talkcontribs)

Really?! That’s sad. Well, it was fun while it lasted!

Grabbergirl134 (talkcontribs)

Why will it be closed forever?

Blad (talkcontribs)
Grabbergirl134 (talkcontribs)

Thanks, just read it! 3 months, that’s not so bad!

MeeMeeCandy777 (talkcontribs)

While I am sad that it was fun while it lasted and that I have some changed opinions for a few pages.

I AM GLAD that this happened. Now I won't have to worry about my favorite episodes like The Robot (The Amazing World of Gumball), Over Exposed (6teen), and a few others along with books like the Dork Diaries series being hated.

To everyone who been on the wikia since its opening, thank you and congrats for all the hard work.

I wish the best luck to everyone who will go to FANDOMs and other stuff.

What will happen to our accounts by the way to those who created prior to the closure.

Peri568 (talkcontribs)

At first, I was sad that Qualitipedia was closing, but after Qualitipedia closed down, I became happy that it's gone and gave up on it.

ShawnTehLogoBoi (talkcontribs)

I agree with you Fortdicted.

Grabbergirl134 (talkcontribs)

I am sad it got closed but I have an idea! Are we able to move all the Databases from the Miraheze wikias to Fandom? I think it’ll be a lot better that way! Even I am getting started right now!

Raichu's Endless Nights (talkcontribs)

Fandom kicked them off years ago. That's why they're on Miraheze in the first place. They would be banned again as soon as the staff found out.

Grabbergirl134 (talkcontribs)

Why? Is there another place? I am sad to see it die.

Raidarr (talkcontribs)

Currently there is not.

Xavior 0.10 (talkcontribs)

Does that mean we will never be able to create new pages of past and future entertainment that's either great or terrible?

Just imagine if more bad episodes of shows got pages...what if Deep Silver butchers Dead Island 2 like they did alongside Volition with the Saints Row Reboot.... Or what if the Mario Movie from Illumination turns out as a failure?

We may never know when the wikis get deleted...

Raidarr (talkcontribs)

Then there will be reviews on basically every other media related website on the internet which can be found with very quick google search if nothing else.

Nonstopmaximum (talkcontribs)

It won't due to incompetent admins and users wanting to delete everything instead of moving on to other wikis or websites.

Blad (talkcontribs)

Users who opposed the RfC were even more incompetent as they wanted to fix the wikis but wouldn't say/know how, save for DeeM's oppose, and he wasn't even a user of Qualitipedia. Simply saying "I want to become an admin to fix Qualitipedia" did nothing to help Qualitipedia. I could propose to become an admin, and nothing would change. We had good reasons to close Qualitipedia and you can't see why. Also, we gave anyone free access to wiki dumps. Anyone can revive Qualitipedia, and fuck up another wiki farms' reputation entirely.

TF3RDL (talkcontribs)

Exactly, these type of wikis can harm wiki farms' reputation regardless whether is FANDOM, Miraheze or even other services, due to notoriety for being filled with drama as reception wikis are far more opinionated than Wikipedia's list of perennial sources. Whoever revived Qualitipedia in another wiki host should be scrutinized as it quickly turns into drama-filled place.

Money12123 (talkcontribs)

What's the point of scrutinising them? Also, Wikipedia's list of perennial sources is not opinionated.

Nonstopmaximum (talkcontribs)

What admins and users in favor of closure fail to understand is that many users were more than willing to take over where they have failed. Deleting everything when users wanted to take over was extreme, but pleas and arguments for this were largely ignored and the motion to close the wikis was passed anyway. All users saying nothing would change were making big assumptions but now it's not possible to know the outcome now.

Raidarr (talkcontribs)

What you fail to understand is that I and others continuously left the door open for suggestions, working into the ranks, volunteering and all the while demonstrated they a) never had a plan, b) were generally incompetent and then c) whine about it later and even now lack something resembling a game plan or really anything to elicit confidence that they'd do more than resurrect the cesspit the wikis were closed for being. "Background check" makes me laugh - the background of virtually everyone on these wikis is underage, autistic (self admitted and literally, I'm not being punitive), inexperienced, arbitrary, and a number of other vices in some combination - in some cases all at once. Who's going to background check when both the management and the community is stuck in some forgotten circle of hell? Give me a break. It's easy to point fingers here when you have no means or incentive to actually back this up. When you're left to people like FatBurn and Bluba wanting to take over well yeah, we're about rock bottom and going no higher than that.

Nonstopmaximum (talkcontribs)

You and other staff were trusted by the community to improve and moderate the wikis per the guidelines for an admin or bureaucrat. The fact that you find a background check of users applying or bring considered for a promotion laughable and proceeding to assume everyone here is not good enough is troubling. You are right that it would be troubling to do so when you and others have clearly demonstrated you have little to no faith in performing your roles as staff members. You failed to deliver on what you were trusted to do and on top of that proposed or endorsed deleting what the community spent years building. There's no way you can put the blame on the community while not owning up to your own mistakes as well.

Money12123 (talkcontribs)

Raidarr explained in their retirement blog that they initially came to have a go at fixing the wikis, but failed to fix the structure or community. They tried, and failed.

Blad (talkcontribs)

What many who were more than willing to take over failed to understand is that they'd be lucky if they were an actual candidate to be a leader. Most arguments were ignored as they were easily struck down with a better argument. And given that we have been saying "Oh, we can fix the wikis" for basically over 4 years now, I don't think that's such a big assumption once you realize that.

Nonstopmaximum (talkcontribs)

The main problem was incompetent admins appointing even more incompetent admins and contributing to the closure. If we actually had a decent background check of the users being promoted this situation may not have occurred.

Blad (talkcontribs)

I guess it's too late for that now.

Money12123 (talkcontribs)

I would have taken over the wikis.

Szczypak2005 (talkcontribs)

I, too, could do wiki and I don't understand why it was throwing 9 years of work to the trash if you could hire people who still cared about this place.

Blad (talkcontribs)

We didn't because 1. There was doubt anyone could fix Qualitipedia, 2. No one was a real candidate, and 3, my above comments.

Portrock1566 (talkcontribs)

And those that did "care" were only looking after their own desires. The brain drain has left it to nobodies to inherit the wikis, confirming that all efforts to curtail the entrapment of their current fate were futile.

Peri568 (talkcontribs)

Look, Qualitipedia was closed for good reasons, and yet you see Qualitipedia as a redeemable place even though the network was given lots of chances and all of them were blown, which means that Qualitipedia cannot save itself from irredeemability.

Money12123 (talkcontribs)

I still insist I could have saved the wikis, but I'm not going to try and get them reopened - I have different plans.

Nonstopmaximum (talkcontribs)

There's major irony in saying that no one was a real candidate while disastrous users like allistaytian and duchess were previously promoted without hesitation, so lets not pretend the leadership would know a real candidate if one was standing right in front of them.

Blad (talkcontribs)

That proves my point. No offense to Duchess or Allis, but they were terrible candidates, and the "candidates" we have here aren't much better.

Band1301 (talkcontribs)

Terrible Shows & Episodes Wiki hasn't had The Cleveland Show, please reopen.

Money12123 (talkcontribs)

What does The Cleveland Show have to do with this? Also, the wikis are staying closed. Get over it.

Who Are The Admins?

5
Grabbergirl134 (talkcontribs)

Can we talk please? I want to revive those wikias but can't find a good Wikia host, one that allows for page comments?

Grabbergirl134 (talkcontribs)

Okay, I found two that could work, Neoseeker and Whiki. What do you say? Time to revive?

Raidarr (talkcontribs)

Neoseeker is irrelevant. Whiki has said no.

Money12123 (talkcontribs)

I already have plans to revive the wikis.

Grabbergirl134 (talkcontribs)

Really?! You’re awesome, did you know that? Let me know when you get things back up again!

Atrocious Gameplay wiki is close too.

4
Obi-Wan Skywalker86 (talkcontribs)

I can't even post link to this.

Obi-Wan Skywalker86 (talkcontribs)
Chilly5000 (talkcontribs)

I closed it down because I was becoming ashamed of it and, to a lesser extent, losing interest. I have a data dump for it, but I can't link it right now due to the fact that the editor bugs out every time.

Chilly5000 (talkcontribs)

Will Loathsome Characters Wiki also Close?

11
Jah99 (talkcontribs)

Will Loathsome Characters Wiki also close too? I’m not a fan of that wiki personally

Agent Isai (talkcontribs)

The RfC doesn't affect them as that wiki wasn't an official part of Qualitipedia. If the local community wishes, they can hold a vote to close the project.

Jah99 (talkcontribs)

I hope that wiki closes down someday, it’s very biased against fictional characters.

Obi-Wan Skywalker86 (talkcontribs)

What do you mean?

Jah99 (talkcontribs)

They hate some fictional characters for their flaws and think that everyone should hate them, and without the four main reception wikis, this wiki will remain pointless and have no purpose

Obi-Wan Skywalker86 (talkcontribs)

That reason is somewhat biased to me.

Jah99 (talkcontribs)

How do you vote for the wiki to close like with the other wikis?

Money12123 (talkcontribs)

You create an RFC on LCW proposing the wiki's closure.

Jah99 (talkcontribs)

Okay, thanks, I’ll find someone who can do that

Money12123 (talkcontribs)

You need to do it yourself.

Neat Structure (talkcontribs)

Jah99, LCW is not even part of Miraheze/Qualitepdia so why do you even care if it does not get shut down? Also, you literally said they hate some fictional characters and think everyone else should delete them. It’s only some pages that should get deleted, not the entire wiki just because you want it too.

Well, this is just great

7
S012891 (talkcontribs)

All Quatipedia wikis are closed. What are we gonna do now. The data dumps don't seem to be helping.

Money12123 (talkcontribs)
TigerBlazer (talkcontribs)

Again, doesn’t making a successor in this manner go against the very nature of the RfC? Because that’s what it feels like to me

Raidarr (talkcontribs)

The data dumps aren't helping because they're just dumps. They don't host things.

Horrible Songs Wiki

3
Thenabster126 (talkcontribs)

Is Horrible Songs Wiki not part of this project?

Blad (talkcontribs)

No, it isn't

There are no older topics
